Our meeting to decide the future of our Chapter went really well. Our ladies voted as one to leave the offical Society and to keep ourselves as a private group.

Well done Ladies.The Membership for the Chapter runs out in Feb 2009.

We will do everything as we have always done, no changes just the same ladies having fun.

Our Christmas Lunch is on 15th December at The Westborne Pub, hopefully lots of you will make it a great afternoon.

Jacket Potato Lunch

16 ladies had a most enjoyable lunch at Sylvia's, it was a friendly get together as we squashed around the tables in the conservatory. Once again thank for inviting us into your home.

As I was on my holidays, I missed the first time back at Haskins after the summer break, but I was informed that 9 ladies made it and that a good time was had, even if the prices had gone up.

Once again, I must say sorry for being so tardy in keeping the web page up to date, fingers crossed I'm back on form.

Please remember the change of plans on 13th Nov, its now a pub lunch, also that the 10 Pin Bowling is on the 6th Nov, more information from Jean Brewin.

Our Annual Picnic at Upton.

Well this year the weather was kind to us and we sat in glorious sunshine at Upton House for our picnic.

It was lovely to see Chris and her ladies from The Jerassic Babes and to welcome 4 new ladies to The Scarlet Belles, I hope they felt welcome, it was very informal and as there were so many of us, it's hard to have a good chat.

Next on the agenda is the cream tea at my home, so I hope to see as many of you as can make it.

How many of you noticed that one of our ladies had had her eyebrows tattooed?. If she isn't jumping out of a plane or abseilling down a steep wall, she finds something else to amaze us with.

Sing a Long

Another afternoon of fun at the Regents Theatre where we had a great time remembering the good old days.

Lots of singing to songs that won the war at the "We'll Meet Again " show, waving of flags and some of our Ladies got to their feet for "There'll always be an England", well done girls.

Don't forget we are off to Weymouth in May, looking forward to another good day out.

Ladies and Tea Parties

The Ladies who were able to attend the tea party given by the Fareham Scarlet Fedoras had a wonderful time on Friday. This was to celebrate the 10th Anniversery of Red Hatting, and did those Ladies Know how to give a party.

73 of us from the Red Hat Society went to an old fashion tea party with tiny sanwiches, cream cakes, trifles and a slice of birthday cake made by Lorna. The hall was beautifully decorated and even husbands were roped in to help, well done to them too.

Gathering of Queens

Sylvia and I had a good weekend in Southampton, meeting lots of lovely ladies, putting faces to emails.
Some of the things discussed was insurance, what did we get from Red Hat headquarters for our money, and a gathering for next year. More on these items at a later date.

Our Annual Lunch

Another lovely lunch with 16 Ladies having fun. There was alot of chat going on, with lots of subjects being talked about too, this is what it's all about ladies, well done.

I for one enjoyed my lunch and I think most of you did, if not all of you.

Our next "tea and chat" is on 9th April,then the theatre at the Regents, Christchurch on 28th April meeting at 2pm. Any information on that to Maureen Winn please.

It was a good meeting on the 5th March, and we at long last managed to get a programme together. It is a varied one which is always interesting, well done Ladies for your imput.

Please get in touch if there are problems, we can only sort out what we are told about, we want you to be happy.

Enjoy tea and chat on thursday, unfortunatly I am unable to get there but I'm sure you will have fun.

Tea and Chat at Haskins

We had our first tea and chat Haskins on Thursday and I am happy to say that it won't be our last! What a stir we caused in our red hats! Lots of ladies and a gentleman came and asked us who we were, and there were alot of smiles among the staff in the restaurant.

We welcomed four new members who seemed to enjoy themselves and we hope they will be very happy with us.

We will be meeting here at Haskins garden centre every 2nd Thursday in the month at 2.30pm for lots of chatting and laughter.

Just a reminder, we will be having a meeting at Moordown Community Centre on the 5th March, starting promptly at 2pm. See you there

A New Year

Well Ladies, another year ahead of us, hopefully it will a good one!!!!!!!!
I hope it will be a healthy one for you all.

I,m sorry last year was abit hit and miss, most of you know that I had family things happening and not good ones either.

Our first meeting of 2008 is on 8th Jan, at 2pm, at Moordown Community Centre, not sure what room we will be in but I'm sure it will be on the board as you walk in the door.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it.

Soggy Sandwiches

Well done to the Ladies who turned up for the picnic on a very dodgy day to Upton House.

We managed to eat our lunch before the rain started, even that didn't send us on way, thats because we all wanted to try the Lemon Drizzle Cake and the Choclate and Beetroot cake kindly baked by our guests, The Jurrasic Babes.

Eventually we had to give in, so in good humour, some ladies went to the tearooms and the rest of us went on our way to dry out.

We have been invited to join the Jurrasic Babes at Swanage on 3rd June.

Cream Tea and Sunshine

On wednesday we enjoyed a real cream tea with strawberries and clotted cream, and a good time was had by all.

We sat out in Joys garden, the sun shone down on us, it was a great afternoon.

Those of us that were there arranged the programme of events for the rest of the year and we hope it meets with everyones approval.

I look forward to seeing lots of you at Upton for the picnic, when The Jurrasic Babes will be our guests, so see you on 14th June.

10 Pin Bowling

Catching Up

Well Ladies, sorry I've been away for such an age, but now I'm back as the song goes.

We had a lovely birthday lunch and it was lovely to see so many of you dressed in your best. The cake was wonderful, thank you Sue, I will keep the feather for ever.

Next get together is 10 pin bowling on 26th April, get in touch with Sheila for that one, then I hope to see as many as can get here on May 23rd. Can you please let me know how many will be here, thanks.

First Get Together 2007

We had our first meeting to try and get our programme for 2007 underway.
Thank you ladies, the suggestions came thick and fast and we have a veried time ahead.
I know it's hard to get to everything, so I do hope that there is something for all.
I for one am looking forward to having you visit our new home in May, hopefully it will be a nice day so that the drive will be a pleasent one, and, it's only 45minutes, not quite the end of the world as some would have you think!!!!!!
I am looking forward to Harry Ramsdens on Feb 28th, see you there.

White Christmas in Southampton

Ten ladies from our Red Hatters went to the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton by train, last Thursday 25th Jan, to see Craig Mclachlan in "White Christmas". The scenery was stunning and it was great to hear the "old" songs sung so well We had a hiccup to start with over price and times of trains but it was soon sorted and we had plenty of time to walk to the theatre from Southampton station. We arrived back in Bournemouth just after 6p.m. after a wonderful time, Good company, good arrangements and a Wonderful show. Thanks to Doreen and Cathy for organising it. Its not an easy thing to do. Thank you both.

Cinderella, The Panto,

Nine Red Hat clad ladies made their way to the Lighthouse in Poole, in fine voice and ready for fun.

"Buttons"mentioned us and received a loud cheer back, then we were whisked off to "Baron Hardups" castle and the panto took off at a rate of knots.

The cast worked so hard and we were taken back to our childhood,booing and singing along, a great time was had by all, we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

To cap it all off, it Snowed!!!!!!!!!, all over us, Twice, and it was indoors!!!!!!!.

Christmas Lunch 8th December

Sixteen Scarlet Belles sat down to Christmas lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it, lots of laughs had by all. The lucky dip was a success, even if Sylvia did lose the bag of gifts!

A Trip to the Pavillion

Seven ladies braved the weather and attended the Organ Recital, and from what I've been told a great time was had by all.

Their red hats were very notable, a gentleman asked if they were Red Hatters,to which Wendy replied yes they were.

Christmas Lunch

Ladies, Baroness of Treasures has asked me to remind you that our Christmas lunch is on 8th Dec at The Bayview Court Hotel, there is parking room at the back of the hotel if the front parking is full.

Sylvia also wants to remind those of you who are lunching, that you need to bring a gift, not to cost more than £3, please tie with a piece of cord and leave a metre length hanging.

Another Girl

Jim and I became grandparents for the 4th time on the 8thNovember, when Rachel Amy arrived at 1-04AM. All we need to do now is to get over the Irish Sea and meet the new arrival.

Hello fellow Scarlet Belles, I just had to let you all know,my newest grand daughter arrived on 16th Oct.
I was at the birth, how tramatic was that!!!!!!!!, but after a little scare, Esther Ruth arrived at
6-46pm. She is a lovely little mite, so tiny but perfect.

I was sorry not to make the ten pin bowling, Wendy told me you had a great time and that Doreen was magnificent, well done to Sheila, Baroness of Treasures, for organising a fun afternoon.

6 Months and Still Hanging On.

Thank you to the ladies who came to our 6 month meeting.It's always good to find out that the things we get up to, are what you want to do.
It was good to get great imput from you, thanks for all your ideas for the coming months, I look forward to a busy few months!!!!!!!.
We had 3 new members, welcome Beryl, Elizabeth and Liz, we hope you enjoy the fun.We now have 27 members to laugh with.

Bus Trip to Swanage

Once again the weather was kind to us,11 of us decended on Swanage and made lots of people laugh and smile, which is always a good thing.
We did the shops, and had a lovely fish and chip lunch. Then we did the shops again!!!!!!!!!, had coffee and it was time to get the bus back to Poole.
It was a lovely bus ride, I would recommend that if you get the chance, give it a go, the scenery is wonderful.

I saw Sylvia,Countess of Craft today and can report that she is on the mend after an operation on her wrist.
She has to have her arm in a sling for a while, and who else would have a sling especially designed for her but Sylvia!!!!!!!!!!.
Those of you going to Swanage will see this in all it's glory.

Up, Up and Away

I have just had a phone call from Wendy.
She did her parachute Jump at 4-20 this afternoon.
Thankfully she is ok, on a big high and can't really take it all in.
Well done Wendy, we are very proud of you.

Boat Trip and a Visitor

We had a boat trip to Brownsea Island, which for those of you who don't know is a National Trust island in the beautiful setting of Poole Harbour.
It was a lovely day, again, we are so lucky with the weather when we have our days out.
With us was a visitor from Australia, Queen Mini Mum, or Stef, was home for a few weeks and joined us for a picnic and lots of chatting, then on our boat trip back, found herself sitting next to a Red Hatter from the U.S.A.We are everywhere!!!!!!!!.
We do hope you enjoyed our company Stef, we certainly enjoyed yours, maybe we will get together again, who knows.

Reaching New Hights

On the 16th September one of our chapter is doing a charity parachute jump,
Wendy Harris, who will admit that she has passed her 70th birthday,is jumping at Langer Airfield Nottinghahshire, in aid of Marie Curie.
I do hope your "tandam" is a nice young man.
Well done Wendy, we are all very proud of you.

On a Wing and a Prayer

On a cloudy 16th September the Red Arrows flew over Bournemouth beach, and as usual, gave a stunning show.
It was Cathie's first time!!!, and boy was she excited, it was a pleasure to be there and to share it with her.
We took a stroll along to see the open air Art Show, followed by a visit to Beales for coffee.

In The Beginning

On the 6th April 2006,The Scarlet Belles of Bournemouth came into being.We hired a hall and had a great response, 18 ladies arrived and showed a huge interest, we introduced ourselves in turn, and spoke about what we thought our Chapter of the Red Hats would like to do.

It was decided that one or two members would take it in turn to arrange our monthly meetings, the first being going out to lunch which was our May meeting.

Subsequently we have had a cream tea in June, in July we had a picnic and invited The Purple Princesses of Poole to join us.
